Hill Climb Racing breaks a new record: 2 billion downloads

Press release, January 15, 2026
Fingersoft announces its original Hill Climb Racing mobile game has zoomed past 2 billion downloads. First launched in 2012, the evergreen hit game is the solid foundation of the Hill Climb Racing franchise, a global phenomenon known and loved worldwide.
Hill Climb Racing is the genre-defining physics adventure that’s captivated players for over a decade. With regular updates, this mobile classic continues to push the boundaries, and even after 13 years, the game is being played by over 4 million people every day.
“We are truly humbled and grateful for our players all over the world”, says Teemu Närhi, CEO of Fingersoft. “Back when Hill Climb Racing was released, we were expecting just to move on to the next game. However, our overwhelmingly engaged players changed our plans and showed that evergreen titles can be played for decades. We are very lucky to have talented and passionate teams working on the Hill Climb Racing products to meet the players’ demand”, he continues.
Since 2012, Hill Climb Racing has grown into an iconic franchise: Its sequel, Hill Climb Racing 2, is hitting a milestone by turning 10 years old later this year. All combined, the franchise is on the verge of reaching 3 billion downloads across platforms soon. Together with the LEGO Group, Fingersoft has also developed the LEGO® Hill Climb Adventures spinoff. And the latest addition is the highly anticipated Hill Climb Racing 3, currently in soft launch in the UK, Finland, Sweden, and Norway.
Despite the newer additions, the original Hill Climb Racing remains the fan favorite. Not only is the game available to download for free on Google Play and the Apple App Store, but you can also enjoy ad-free fun with Hill Climb Racing+ on Apple Arcade, or take a quick spin with Hill Climb Racing Lite in your browser via YouTube Playables or on Poki.com.
