Analytics Driven Ad Monetisation
Fingersoft Data Scientist, Ilpo Virtanen will be giving a presentation about Analytics Driven Ad Monetisation. His talk is scheduled for Tuesday, February 9 at 11:30 AM, UK time.
Ilpo has 15 years of experience in data and analytics and he holds a PhD in Space Physics. Since 2019 he has been working at Fingersoft as a Data Scientist. Ilpo is a statistician who enjoys coaching, management and human interaction.
Fingersoft racing games Hill Climb Racing and Hill Climb Racing 2 have more than 1.5 Billion downloads and the number of daily active users is over 6 million. Both games include rewarded videos, interstitial ads and in app purchases. Ad monetisation in Hill Climb Racing 2 is strongly driven by analytics. From ad requests to over 10M daily ad impressions, each step is monitored in analytics, including possible issues and failures. Recently we started using Admob LTV Pingback, which provides revenue information for each individual ad impression. We have also implemented segmented interstitial placements, which target interstitial ads to predicted non-payers. With these methods we have been able to improve both player experience and ad monetisation.

Otto is a former game developer and software engineer with a Master’s degree in Theoretical Physics, who has warped smoothly in the past two years to the business development level of the game industry.
