Fingersoft appoints Teemu Närhi as new CEO

Press release, January 30, 2025

Teemu Närhi takes the wheel as the CEO of the Finnish mobile game studio Fingersoft, effective February 7. The company’s previous CEO, Jaakko Kylmäoja, joins the board of directors.

Teemu Närhi has served as the CEO of Fingersoft before, from 2014 until 2019. Since then Närhi has worked as a game developer and served as a member of the board at Fingersoft.

“Fingersoft has had a long-standing success with the Hill Climb Racing franchise, and we are aiming to continue that story with Hill Climb Racing 3 in the future. 2024 was a tough year for the whole industry and while we were also affected, we have been able to turn things around and will now focus on strengthening the company culture and delivering beloved games,” says Teemu Närhi, the new CEO at Fingersoft.

“As we look ahead, I am happy to welcome Teemu Närhi back to the helm of Fingersoft. Teemu has extensive experience in both leadership and game development, and he knows this company inside out — I am confident Teemu can form a clear direction for the company for years to come”, says Toni Fingerroos, the founder and chairman of the board at Fingersoft.

Närhi will succeed Jaakko Kylmäoja in his role as CEO. Kylmäoja becomes a board member at Fingersoft.

“We extend a sincere thank you to Jaakko Kylmäoja for his outstanding leadership and unwavering dedication to Fingersoft. Over his 4 years as CEO, he has faced a number of external challenges, such as the pandemic and drastic industry changes, and he’s boldly led the company through all of them while developing and launching great new games such as LEGOⓇ Hill Climb Adventures. It is a pleasure to continue to have his experience on the board of directors,” Fingerroos continues.

Fingersoft is a Finnish game studio that creates fun-filled content for mobile devices. The company is famous for its worldwide smash hits, Hill Climb Racing and Hill Climb Racing 2, with the latest addition, LEGOⓇ Hill Climb Adventures, out now. Combined, the Hill Climb Racing games have accumulated over 2.5 Billion downloads across platforms and over €220 million in NET revenue.
