About adopting the four-day work week

We have been experimenting with the concept of four-day work week since last year, when we offered our people the chance to try out working 80% hours with 90% salary. Approximately one fourth of all employees participated in the experiment. The six-month trial worked so well that we extended the experiment for another six months, during which we have been fine-tuning some practicalities.

GamesIndustry.biz caught up with us about our progress with the four-day work week. In this article, together with three other game companies’ representatives, Fingersoft CEO Jaakko Kylmäoja explains how the reduced work week has worked for us in practice and what have been the unanticipated benefits. He believes that the industry at large could adopt the concept of a four-day working week.
